Fauna Falls Vest Top Product Review...

Summer is finally here! What better way to keep cool than with a colourful and unique vest top? About a month ago, I got in touch with Carrie, from an Irish clothing company called Fauna Falls. I found them through the website notonthehighstreet.com  and fell in love with their products instantly!

Their clothes are so different to the High Street brands and to everything I normally see or buy - and I loved that. Later on, they agreed to send me one of their vest tops. I didn't really know what to expect because they had so many different products advertised!

However when it arrived I was pleasantly surprised. On my particular item, I received the scene of 'Ladies View in Kilarney' on my racer back vest and I loved it straight away, so raced upstairs to try it on. I ordered a 12 because as a rule I normally go one size up on tops when ordering clothes because I like them to be a bit baggy and have more room in them. I was told that it is a loose fitting top to be worn over skinny jeans, so that's exactly what I teamed it with, along with my *fake* Dr Marten boots! It really reminded me of a Kylie Jenner look, someone that I look up to for fashion and beauty.

Along with the package, I got a gorgeous card with a personal, handwritten letter from the owners of the company. I thought this was such a lovely touch and just made me love the them even more!

Summary
Overall, there's absolutely nothing negative that I can say about the company or products. They were so lovely to deal with, and I'd recommend them to any of my friends. The vest top is gorgeous and I have worn it again and again! The tops are a bit on the big size, so don't order a bigger size, even if you normally would.

Every person who likes similar fashion to me should check this company out, I'm sure you'd love it!

Peekaboo Cosmetics- Product Review!

Like most teenage girls, I love my make up! I'm not fussy as to which brand I use; it just depends on what I can afford or what takes my fancy. So when I got the chance to review some make up, I was so excited, and when I looked at the company I was going to be working with, I instantly knew it was 'so me' and I just wanted to get started straight away!

Around 2 weeks ago, I was sent some make up from a gorgeous company called Peek-a-Boo Cosmetics. I loved the cute touch of a sticker on the back of the package- is that weird?! The delivery was really quick, it only took 2 days to come- impressed!

I liked the fact that there was a personalised letter enclosed too, saying exactly what they sent me and the prices. Everything in their range is so girly, pretty and pink! The packaging that the items were wrapped in was beautiful and cute too!
In the pink package is the lipstick and eye shadow. In the clear packet is the foundation.

Personally, my favourite product that I got sent was the 'OMG Red' lipstick.  It was flavoured, and smelt so delicious! It lasted all day, even when I went out for a meal at night. The colour didn't fade at all, and I didn't need to reapply it through the day. It goes so well with a leather jacket and heels so perfect for nights out with friends!
The foundation was from their Naked Mineral range, and it is one that suits all skin types. I liked this because it wasn't too thick, and not sticky either! But I did find myself using a bit more than I normally would because I required a better coverage. It did say on the letter that you could wear it under a normal foundation but I think that would mean I was wearing too much! But I would definitely recommend it for anyone who doesn't need a heavy coverage.

The eye shimmer was a lovely colour, and I like to wear a lot of eye make up, and this was the perfect thing for me to wear just in the day or to layer it up in the evening. I loved this because of the bold colour and it was really sparkly and shiny which I love!
The lady who I spoke with over Facebook was very helpful and she was more than happy to work with me and my blog! Their company is based in Louth and I adore their make up range and would happily recommend their products to my friends!
Products and Prices
  • OMG Red Lipstick- £11.25
  • Loose Mineral Eyez Shimmer- £9.00
  • Naked Mineral Foundation- £16.65

Their main website and online shop is http://eshop.peek-a-boocosmetics.com/ and I loved looking through all their products because they're beautiful and all natural which is definitely a bonus!

Argan Dew-Product Review!

Argan Dew- Miraculous Argan Oil and Replenishing Hair Mask!

A few weeks ago, I was sent samples of Argan Dew to review. I received lots of small packages, around 5 of each type. There was the 'Replenishing Hair Mask' and 'Miraculous Argan Oil'. The first thing that pleased me was that I was told it would take around 11-15 working days to get to me, but they actually were delivered after just 9 days! I was so impressed, especially after I realized that they'd come all the way from Israel!

I was sent 5 of each of these products for reviewing!

'Miraculous Argan Oil' was really useful and helpful for me, as I usually straighten my hair everyday and sometimes it can go quite frizzy throughout the day. This was like a saviour because I put the tiniest bit on my fingers and ran it through my hair, and no lie it instantly felt smoother and silkier! I've never tried Argan Oil before this, but now I see what all the hype is about- I love it! (Just be careful not to put too much on, else you get the oily, greasy feeling which doesn't feel or look great!)

The'Replenishing Hair Mask'surprised me too! I washed my hair as normal, then put this on while it was still wet, waiting a couple of minutes and then rinsed it off. The effect was again instant, and even the day after, after torturing my hair again with the heat, it still smelt and felt really lovely!Even some of my friends noticed&one of them literally said "Is that actually what it does, because if it is, I want some!"

My favourite product out of the two was the Miraculous Argan Oil though, because it was so quick and simple to use and had a great result straight away! Both of the products are such good quality and I'd recommend them to anyone who's hair is a bit damaged by heat or is in need of a bit of repairing and TLC!

Daybreaks 'Flood Heroes' of 2014!

It's no secret that recently the U.K has been hit by the biggest storms in many years. It was devastating and hundreds of thousands of people were evacuated from their homes, with not much more than the clothes they stood in. Lots of people missed out on a big family Christmas and New Year because they stayed in hotels and didn't have the money for the luxury dinner or presents. It was destroying for everyone involved.... But out of the horror came amazing community spirit.

Thousands of people in my local town rallied round to help those affected, after my Dad set up the 'Get Boston Back on its Feet' group on Facebook. The main initiative was that if we were in this position, we'd want someone to help and think of us, other than the council. The next day, he, my Mum and Mark Douglass organised a donation stand for Christmas toys for the children who lost theirs in the flooding. They, along with many of the volunteers, managed to gather over 300 presents for all ages, from newborn babies to 16 year old teenagers. This was due to the amazing generosity of the local 'Bostonians' and without them, there would've been a lot of distraught children waking up on Christmas Day!!

As time went on, the Facebook group grew in size and the volunteers gave amazing input, going to the Fenside Community Centre to help sort out donations, visiting the affected people and even going so far as to delivering the donated items to the needy in their own vehicles for free! It was a great team effort and without the volunteers, many people still wouldn't be back in their homes. To this day, the fund has raised £20,000 which has been spent on white goods and carpet from local businesses for the people getting back to their homes.

As much as the volunteers have been so great throughout the process, without my Dad, the group would never have even been set up! I saw first hand how he worked through the Christmas holidays,
took calls at 9.00 at night and put his personal life on hold to help others. When I saw that Daybreak were holding a competition for 2014 'Flood Heroes' I couldn't help thinking that what Dad did was
worthy and deserving of recognition for his effort. I emailed them on behalf of my Mum after I spoke to her about it (the age limit was 16) and then I forgot all about it!

After around 3 weeks later, it was the evening after a usual boring Monday at school, I came home and checked my emails, only to find one from the Daybreak production team!! They said how they wanted to get in contact with Dad and I to find out more about what we are both like. So the next day, before school we spent half an hour chatting and explaining exactly what it was Dad had done to help. They said it would be a few days before we knew if the application had been successful, as there were hundreds of applications and nominations to judge! Eventually we got a call back saying they narrowed it down to five winners and that in a weeks time, there'd be a film crew coming to interview us to go onto Daybreak afterwards! Rav came up from London on the the Tuesday next
week and it was so much fun being interviewed and also being showed how to operate an official
filming camera! (It's my hope to go into something media related;journalism or television.)

I didn't really realise how emotional the floods really were; we had been lucky and avoided the disaster. But Rav filmed in one of the flood victims home, and as she recalled what happened, it really bought it home how hard the past few months had been for the affected people. This lady explained how she really didn't want to come back in to her home, but the volunteers had helped her feel comfortable enough to eventually be able to return.

When the VT was shown on Daybreak, there was only a short clip of the 2 hours of filming we'd produced in the past couple of days, which was disappointing as it didn't really show the effort from the volunteers that we'd spoken about. (Plus my bit was cut out... Gutted!!)

However, the highlight was definitely going to the actual ITV studios in London, which is where I
was on Saturday morning! On Friday night, Dad and I travelled the 3 and 1/2 hours on the train to Kings Cross then got on the tube to Waterloo Station.

Strangely I love getting on the tube!

On the tube, there was something that really effected and stayed with me, a young Scottish man had a small pot and entered our carriage saying "I'm sorry to disturb you ladies and gentlemen but is there
any chance you could help me raise a hostel fund for my hostel stay tonight?" I felt so guilty, here I was on an 'all expenses paid for' trip and there was him not even getting enought money for a night in a youth hostel. However, thinking it through later, the money given to him could be used for his
next drug hit and as bad as it sounds, it could easily be true, as hostels for the homeless are usually free; it really does make you grateful though!

When we arrived, it was around 8.30pm so we quickly checked into our hotel, The Ibis Blackfriars, and it was lush! You could see the OXO tower lit up from the window, and the free wifi was a great bonus!:-) we went for dinner, to use our £50 worth of vouchers, paid for by the Daybreak producers! I ordered the biggest four cheese pizza, with an apple tizer and chocolate cheesecake, and I'm sure I put on another 5 stone after it all!

This was gorgeous, but I was so full afterwards!!

I can't recommend the hotel and restaurant enough, it was such a relaxing atmosphere and the design was so sleek and modern;I loved it!

We went for a little walk afterwards, just up the road! It was so quiet(well it was 10.30 at night!) and we saw St.Pauls Cathedral, stood on the bridge above the Thames and even saw an upside down house, no lie! It was a world away from my usual Thursday night in B-Town! It was great to spend quality time with Dad, with him not working or taking calls!

We got back to the hotel at around 11 and set not one, not two, not three either...but four alarms to wake us up at 5.15, yes you did read that right! A car picked us up at 6.15 on Friday morning, taking us straight to the studios, where we were greeted by Michelle, who took us to the canteen in the centre of the studios. We waited there until the other competition winners arrived, and then we're briefed on what the morning would look like! First of all we had an amazing tour around, seeing the
set for Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, and we spotted Aled Jones in make up! (But shhh I wasn't supposed to tell anyone that!) We also saw the whole control panel, and sound decks, as well as meeting the producers on the way round! That was definitely an experience I'll never forget and made me realise just how much I wanted to go into media when I'm older! We went back to the canteen for a while, to chat to each other, and we even spoke to Richard Arnold which was really cool!
The definite highlight for me was seeing Joey Essex and Paloma Faith walk past us, I still
haven't got over that!!!!!! It was so crazy that they were there and the producers were acting like it was completely normal while I was silently screaming! PALOMA FAITH AND JOEY ESSEX IN THE SAME STUDIO AS ME, IT JUST DOESNT HAPPEN!!! If we'd have stayed another half hour, we could've got a photo with him- Storm and I were so hoping it'd happen!

We rehearsed what would happen on the actual show, so it went well; myself, Gayner and some other producers had to clap the winners in and cheer as loud as we could! So when the live show actually happened, Storm, Seamus, Clare, Zafar and my Dad all sat on THE ACTUAL DAYBREAK SOFA WITH THE ACTUAL PRESENTERS! I watched from the control panel, and none of them looked nervous at all, which is crazy, I would've been so scared! It was announced in a special message from Richard Branson that each winner would receive £5,000 for their flood fund! Not only that though, they are all attending a reception at none other than 10 Downing Street with David Cameron!

After they'd finished filming, it was around 8.30 so we all headed upstairs to have breakfast on the 14th floor, which had beautiful, postcard worthy views! It was so lovely, and we all sat and had nice conversations too. Although the main topic was Storm and I wanting to get a photo with Joey before we left! Breakfast was great, cereal and pain au chocolat, along with a chocolate cookie, mmmm!

Eventually though,we had to leave and come back down to reality, after 2 days of being treated really like royals! Another car picked us up from the studios and took us to Kings Cross for our journey back to Boston:-( I loved every single second, and I'd love to do it all again, because it really was one of the best experiences I've ever had! I was still in shock about the whole day, and on the train I was still on a hype from it all!

I am so grateful to the people at ITV for being so lovely and welcoming to us, and making us feel so comfortable in the studios... And for putting us up in an amazing hotel!

Thank you for the music...

Anyone who knows me well enough will know that I'm a massive fan of music:-) I love music in the charts, all the new songs and popular ones. But I also love unsigned artists and bands, and there's so many of them who really deserve to get recognized!

I know, I know I've already written about Brandon and Leah before, but if anyone's got the time, please listen to their music- they're my favourites! I started watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians, about a year ago and when I heard their music for the first time, I had to hear more. So I You Tubed them, and found out they had an EP, which I listened to and instantly loved! Since then, I've learnt their songs, been tweeted by Leah and bought the EP on my phone, which is the most repeated thing on there. Leah's voice is absolutely beautiful and when her and Brandon sing together it can send shivers down my spine! Their music is so easy to listen to and I've even converted my family into liking them, which is a massive achievement, as they usually don't like the music in the charts! My favourite is 'Life Happens' because it's such a feelgood song and always can cheer me up on a dark morning at the bus stop! My only hope is that they come to the UK soon, because I'd love to go to a live concert and would queue for hours to get to the front.... Bit sad I know:-/

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Pl9Jkq060s

Another favourite of mine is Lewis Watson, he's got such a nice voice and he's not bad looking either;-) The link is to his song Bones, which was the first one I listened to after seeing it on a friends Facebook page (thanks Beth!) and now I've listened to nearly all of them! Bones is definitely my favourite because it's so original and relaxing; just Lewis and his guitar.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mVbdjec0pA

I know Gabrielle Aplin shouldn't really count as an unsigned artist, but there were some of us who listened to her way before her big 'rise to fame' in the John Lewis advert. This song was one of her first songs on YouTube and before she had her own official VEVO, there was a different video for this song. I've got to say I did prefer the old one, but I can't find it anywhere now:-( Her vocals are stunning and she's only 21, and has had a number one with her version of the song Power Of Love! Her new album English Rain has been a huge success getting to number 2 in the UK Album Charts!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uodUCtmCRME

Last but not least, Lauren Aquilina- she's gorgeous and has the voice to match! I need to listen to more of her songs because I only know a couple so far, but I think her songwriting is amazing and I just love her tone and style! The music video is simple, but beautiful and this song gets stuck in my head for days! I first heard of her when she featured in Frank Hamilton's song Flaws and Ceilings and I loved her voice straight away. I'm pretty sure that soon she'll be a massive success:-)

Back to biology coursework it is then, but this music is helping me survive it! I actually hope some of you listen to a couple of these songs because they're completely different to the music in the charts- and I actually think sometimes they're better!

Have a nice weekend everyone and I promise I'll write a bit more often now:-)

Green with Jennervey!

Think you'll agree, they both are stunning!
So, anyone who knows me well, knows I'm a biiiiiiig fan of KUTWK (Keeping Up With The Kardashians) and I've already written about Leah Jenner, but now to her younger sisters-in law.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner are stars in the modelling and fashion industry already and they're only 16&18!!! They've both recently started a new holiday collection for the American Clothes Company-PacSun. Although they're millionaires as teenagers, they work so hard for it, and the clothes on the website are actually beautiful- expensive though, but what would you expect from Kris 'momager' Jenner's youngest two girls?!
My favourite item off the whole website is the Daisy Midi Skirt- I know it's not summer, but for going out for a meal or to see family/friends it'd be perfect! Just team it with a plain blue, yellow or white top and some killer heels and jewellery for a perfect NYE Outfit!
The sisters have made a name for themselves in the industry by appearing on the cover of World Famous magazines such as Teen Vogue and being ambassadors for Seventeen Magazine.
I am soooo jealous of these two, they are both so gorgeous and amazingly successful, but still they remain lovely people who any aspiring designers and models can look up to!
KUWTK is on on Sunday's at 10pm on E! But is repeated every day at 10am, give it a watch and I'm sure you'll enjoy seeing the lives of one of America's top families!! Let me know if you enjoy it in the comments, and suggestions of my next blog please!

Keep reading guys and thank you all so much for all the likes/comments and shares so far-really appreciated! x

Operation Wallacea begins...

Wow, sorry I haven't updated recently, been quite busy with in-school activities! So, I have a meeting tomorrow about a trip that I've got the chance to go on to South America, and I'm not going to lie, I'm really looking forward to it! I've got 2 years to fundraise £3,000 (eeeeek!) and get my fitness up to the level that is needed!
For a week, we'll be staying in a basic camp with river showers and hardly any facilites, but on the second week, we're staying in a lush hotel which borders onto a beach! We get to go scuba-diving in the ocean and see all the reefs and underwater wildlife. Anyone who know's me, knows that I'm not usually an outdoor person (living without straighteners is going to be a challenge!) but this sounds like an amazing chance and I really don't want to miss out on it!
So in July of 2015, we'll hopefully be jetting out to the Honduras with the Operation Wallacea team and that's where the adventure begins, I just hope I get over this fear of bees and wasps before then!! I'm so determined to raise enough funds for this though, and although it'll be hard work, I'm up for the challenge!
I've been watching I'm A Celebrity recently as well, and I know that some people think that Joey Essex is quite thick and they may make fun of him but I think he's quite a nice lad! He's proved himself so much, he's nice to Amy, who is hated by a few others and he's basically fearless in the Bushtuckers! I'm backing him to win, because I think after everything he's gone through, he deserves some happiness:-) I just hope in my fortnight I won't have to search through a limo full of guts to get food like Lucy Pargeter had to, or eat Turkey bits either, ewwwwwww!

I've got quite a lot of fundraising ideas, but now I just need to get the motivation to actually do it and get myself down to the gym and pool! Hopefully will be joining the Youth Firefighters as well, so that'll help with the fitness side of things. If you can't tell, I'm quite excited and just hope and fingers crossed that everything will come together in the next 2 years, got a lot to do!

Keep reading, commenting, liking and sharing please lovely people and thank you all for your support so far!!x
